About the artist

Coby McClam is first a father to his 3 children Egypt, Autumn and (bonus son) Arthur. He is also a self-taught sculpture artist using wood as his medium. He graduated from Florida A&M University with a degree in Economics while minoring in Business. While he appreciates the financial and business education he obtained from his degree, wood carving is his true passion. In his first juried art competition, Juneteenth Art Festival in Gainesville 2007, he received a 1st placed award in sculpture. He went on to place in the same competition the following year. He was also featured in Artprize 2014. Mr. McClam seeks to merge his creative craftsmanship with visually impacting technological enhancements. His signature piece deemed “The Staff of Life” is a seven-year culmination of spirit, history, culture, astrology, symbolism and so much more.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a minimum order?

Yes!   There is a minimum order amount of $200.

What is your refund policy?

You are under no obligation to purchase the painting if you aren’t happy with the end result.  The invoice originally paid (50% of the total cost) can count towards store credit in my shop, but is nonrefundable.  Once the FINAL invoice (50% of the total cost) is paid, no refunds, shop credit, or exchanges are given.

If for any reason either party cancels the commission after the initial studies have been completed but before the carving has been started, a partial refund of the Deposit Payment will be given.  This refund will be $50 minus the Deposit Payment amount.  This $50 fee covers my time consulting, creating, and materials used.

What is your time frame?

Once begun, commissioned carvings generally take 4-12 weeks for completion depending on project size, intricacy of design and personalization of piece, etc (includes the entire process outlined above).

Replication?

I like to ensure that each client’s piece is unique, so I never set out to exactly replicate a specific carving. But I am happy to create a different version of an existing carving, that is similar yet unique!   Please bear in mind that exact design scheme and color matching is not always possible with my technique.

Sculpting on different mediums?

I am not accepting commissions for works on any medium other than wood.

Shipping

Pieces will be either boxed or crated.
